Sunday Morning Yoga WorkshopsThe format of each workshop is 1.5 hour asana practice followed by a pit stop and Q&A/discussion session and finishing with breathing practice and relaxation. Each workshop is limited to 8 students so booking is essential. Contact Anne to book your place. Venue: Poole Yogashala, 110 Fernside Road, Poole. BH15 2EP. Time: 10am to 12.30pm Cost: £15.00 per workshop Dates: 21st March 2010 “The obvious v the important”Do we mistake the obvious for the important in our work? In this workshop we will be challenging our ideas about what is important in each posture. 25th April 2010 “Posture is stable and effortless”Are we using effort or will-power to maintain a position? If we are, what happens when we relax the effort? Do we become unstable? Maybe the posture is not what we thought it was after all. Discovering this, can we let the body reveal to us a more stable, effortless position. 23rd May 2010 “Room to breathe”The body has an innate intelligence which allows it to adjust the breath to meet the demands placed upon it. But it is often constrained by our accumulated habits and muscular tensions. In this workshop we will be exploring how we can give ourselves room to breathe in a posture and discovering what this can reveal to us about the position. 20th June 2010 “A beginner’s mind”In the East a “beginner’s mind” is highly prized. You cannot understand a thing if you have preconceived ideas about it. What may be revealed to us if we come to the practice as if for the first time? 25th July 2010 “Watch out, habits about!”We are creatures of habit. And mostly we are unaware of our habits. We bring them with us onto our yoga mats. When we become aware of habits then they loose their hold upon us and we change. In this workshop we will direct our attention to noticing our habitual way of approaching the postures and breath work.

Get rid of that ‘new mat’ smell by wiping your mat over with a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water or leave it hanging, unfurled, outside on the line or in an airy garage. |
